How does acupuncture work?

Modern research has demonstrated acupuncture facilitating many aspects of the body's natural healing ability.

According to the Nei Jing, the outside of the body is connected with the inside via the channel/meridian system, each channel relates to certain organ. The channel is the pathway of the body’s Qi, or energy. Any problems on the inside will manifest symptoms on the outside.

Needling the acu-points of the affected channel can restore proper working order of the Qi, or energy that flows in the channel and organ, thereby actually treating the cause of the disease not only symptoms.
